What Is Organic Food?
Organic food is produced with sustainable methods and do not involve modern synthetic inputs and do not contain any genetically modified organisms. Organic foods use natural methods like composting and rotating cultures to fertilize the soil, and they make sure that the soil is healthy, alive, so that the plant will be too, instead of adding all sorts of minerals to the soil that became dead after all life has been killed by pesticides.
The USDA has identified for three categories of labeling organic products:
100% Organic: Made with 100% organic ingredients
Organic: Made with at least 95% organic ingredients
100% Organic: Made with 100% organic ingredients
Organic: Made with at least 95% organic ingredients
Made With Organic Ingredients: Made with a minimum of 70% organic ingredients with strict restrictions on the remaining 30% including no GMOs (genetically modified organisms)
Products with less than 70% organic ingredients may list organically produced ingredients on the side panel of the package, but may not make any organic claims on the front of the package.
its good to know that the amount of organic ingredients isn't that much of a difference but what exactly are the organic ingredients?
